Praise the Lord! We will have a washing machine!!!!

The best news since finding out Ulan Bator, Mongolia has access to disposable diapers, is finding out that we will in fact have our own clothes washing machine!  God is good, people.  He is so good!  I don’t know why I was convinced I’d be doing all of our family’s laundry in the sink, but I was prepared to do it nonetheless.  Just yesterday I even bought a week’s worth of that special travel underwear that they sell at camping goods stores, determined to “rough it” for the next eight months.

But why am I so surprised and delighted again by the Lord providing?  Clearly God is good whether or not I have access to modern appliances.  The truth is that God knows me and my limits.  He knows my deepest, secret fears and insecurities.  I know in my heart that the provision of a washing machine is Him whispering directly to my heart saying “beyond what you could ever ask for or imagine, Michelle.” My God is good beyond measure and He longs to be good to you, too.

“…No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him –but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.  The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.  For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him?...”  1 Corinthians 2:9-11

If you’re afraid to go out on a limb with God today, I’m telling you to give God a try.  Trust Him and he will blow you away.  He knows who you are.  He knows what you will like because he created you in your likes and dislikes, for cryin’ out loud!  You may not have the assurance of what you think you need in the moment of surrender, but no matter how you feel, you will never be dropped out of his Hand.
